  3. Certification 33-1201 Certification is required for instructional staff, school nurses, librarians, PE teachers… Long-term substitute must be tied to a teacher of record Paraprofessionals (Parapros)cannot be the teacher of record Provided by the Idaho state department of education

Highly Qualified Teacher HQT is required for core content assignments ONLY Three components required for teachers teaching core content assignments 1) BA or higher 2) valid state certification 3) demonstration of content mastery Core content areas and methods to achieve HQT status: http://www.sde.idaho.gov/site/teacher_certification/HQT/ Provided by the Idaho state department of education

  7. Staff Assignment Template • New columns added to assist in reporting highly qualified status • New data elements feed into the Credential/HQT report Provided by the Idaho state department of education

Ensure Funding • Data entered on the Staff Assignment Template feeds into the Credential/HQT report • Review the Credential/HQT report after each upload • Correcting errors - cumulative reporting vs non-cumulative reporting • Districts/charters who report cumulatively can simply correct any wrong assignment code or delete inactive or incorrect assignments. They also don’t need to worry about going back and fixing past reports, but simply move forward making corrections to the next monthly upload. • Districts/charters that do not report cumulatively and have an assignment showing incorrectly will still need to go into the staff assignment template and end the incorrect assignment code and enter a new row with the correct assignment with the correct start date.
