Works closely w/ the unit manager • The QSA must be carefully selected • Needs to be a high performer • The manager must implicitly trust this individual • Will have access and review all unit PSN’s The QSA in the SICU
PSN resolve and review • Follow up with staff involved • The PSN groups are divided amongst the Permanent charge nurses, Manager, and Skin/Fall champs • The QSA has knowledge of all PSN’s and follows up as needed • Acts as resource for other PSN reviewers The QSA in the SICU
The QSA acts a resource for unit Focus PDCA’s Does resolve and review and presents risk cases to CQRM Provides the unit with information from latest QSA committee meeting. Presents 2-3 PSN R&R at staff meetings The QSA in the SICU
Educate staff on how/when/why to fill out a PSN • Acts as resource for PSN reviewers • Assists w/ R&R, email reminders, ensures each PSN is “viewed” within 3 business days. • Aware of unit QI data The QSA in the SICU
