Trading Cards (or “collectible cards”) are small cards, usually made out of paperboard or thick paper, which usually combines an image of a certain person, place or thing (fictional or real) and a short description of the picture, along with other texts (attacks, statistics, or trivia).
A polyptych generally refers to a painting (usually a panel painting) which is divided into sections, or panels. There are many different kinds of polyptychs.

A trade card is an early example of a business card. Some businesses began to create increasingly sophisticated designs, especially with the development of color printing.As they became more attractive, collecting trade cards became a popular hobby in the late 19th Century.
