Hardin County Public Library Kids Youth Services News August 2013 Stories & Tails This program will allow children and families to read aloud to a therapy dog to improve reading and communication skills, improve literacy levels, and encourage a positive reading environment. This free program is sponsored by the Fort Knox American Red Cross. This program meets every second Saturday of each month. Families are welcome.No registration is required. Walk-ins welcome. Saturday, August 10, 2013 1:00p.m. -2:00 Kid’s Corner Movies at the Library The Land Before Time (G) 88 minutes Snacks will be provided Friday, August 2, 2013 11:00-12:30 Children’s Room Create-A-Craft Hour Come let your imagination soar as we supply your little one with construction paper, glue, crayons, and an assortment of other crafty items to create their very own masterpiece. Ages 2-5. Wednesday, August 14, 2013 11:00-12:00 Children’s Room Coloring Day Join us for coloring fun as we read a coloring book story, play a coloring game, do a coloring activity, and color giant Sunny Patch Kids coloring pages. Don’t miss the fun as we color until we drop! Ages2-4. Noregistration required. Monday, August 19, 2013 11:00-12:00 Children’s Room Duct Tape Extravaganza Duct tape is provided or feel free to bring your favorite design or color. Bring your creativity. Walk-ins are welcome. Families welcome. Ages 10+for difficulty. No registration is required. Tuesday, August 20, 2013 4:30-5:30 Meeting Room Animal of the Month Club Join us as we learn about a different animal each month, do an animal craft, read animal books, and do a special animal activity. Ages 2-5. Tuesday, August 21, 2013 11:00-12:00 Children’s Room • Legos @ the Library • 5+ years old • (adult supervision required for children under 7 years of age) • Tuesday, August 27, 2013 • 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 • Meeting Room Author @ the Library Local author Lenora Rodgers visits the library. She will read her new book, A Fairy Long Night, her 1st book in the Zak and Zeke series . She will be available to sign copies. Copies will be available for purchase. Tuesday, August 26, 2013 6:00-7:00 Perler Beads • Ages 5+ Friday, August 30, 2013 4:00-5:00 • Meeting Room Little Lego Club @ the Library Let your little one come and build all that they can imagine with Lego blocks. This is a drop-in program for children ages 2 to 4 years old.
