Like beauty, good leadership is hard to explain but you know it when you see it.
We are often asked to identify the great leaders from the past
How do we know they were good? Would they be equally successful in today’s society?
Surely a better question would be “who was the best leader you ever had?”
In pairs write a list of the reasons for your previous answer.
Is there a common characteristic of good leaders?? GOOD WITH PEOPLE
Managers who are good with people usually also lead teams of people who actually want to work for them Why is this important?
Happy employees are not guaranteed to be effective but… Unhappy employees are always less effective
Statistics show that employees usually don’t leave companies, they leave bosses
Many people say they want consistency from their boss They also say they don’t want to be led by a robot!

Improving Emotional Intelligence Take responsibility for your actions. If you hurt someone's feelings, apologize directly – don't ignore what you did or avoid the person.
