SNOOP • Objective: to find out how ship exhaust emissions (NOx, SOx, PM, CO and CO2) are effecting the marine environment and human health in port areas • Produce important information for the decision makers about Baltic Sea shipping and its emissions, i.e. by • Producing AIS data analysis for HELCOM • By developing future scenarios for the emissions of shipping
SNOOP • Air quality measurements • In the ports of Helsinki, Turku and Tallinn • Islands of Aegna and Harmaja • On board of vessels/ships • By aeroplane • Results of the measurements have been used throughout the project
SNOOP • Project result in; • Scenarios for ship originated atmospheric emissions until 2040 • Marine impact model • Estimation of emissions on human health • Air quality data • Several scientific papers • Three Policy Forums
