Version 8.0 (Feb 1998) Enhancements • Synchronized all parts at version 8.0 • New security system allows software locking or hardware locking on Win NT, 95 or 3.1 • Added DIPA and MDEA pure components • New Mixed Amine Thermo-dynamic method using MEA, DEA, MDEA, DGA and/or DIPA • New Mixed Amine Rate Based Distillation Columns (ABS / Regen) for accurate CO2 / H2S absorption

Version 8.4 (Jan. 2002) Enhancements • Added support for multiple sheets to the user interface • Increased the maximum size of a flowsheet that could be modeled in the graphical user interface by 10X • Converted the simulator kernels from single precision to double precision arithmetic • Added Energy Balance table • Import stream results from an output file as stream specs • Added more Refine column symbols with side strippers • Added embedding of ChemTran files inside a DESIGN II input file

Version 8.5 (Sept. 2002) Enhancements • Added Controller and Depressurizer unit module dialogs • Major enhancement of the Depressurizer unit module to support the 7th edition of API 520 and added mixed phase flow option • Added user customization to the Excel Blaster for stream summary items • Added crude curve/cuts viscosity and properties (sulfur, pour point, etc) to the stream dialog

  17. Future Enhancements (long term) • Merge DESIGN II into graphical user interface for greater control / interaction • Allow separate choice of thermodynamics methods (enthalpy and density) for vapor and liquid phases
