Northglenn High School Has A Voice! By: Spencer Jackson Nate Swanson & Melia Lucero
Why Is Northglenn Considered Voiceless? • Opinions of peers • Ethnicity rate • Age of the school • Athletics • Location (other school options)
Who Has Taken Away Our Voice? • Newer High Schools • Athletic Competition • Over all performance of Northglenn (school ranking) • TCAP scores
What Goals Do We Have? • To find out why Northglenn is considered voiceless How we are going to do this: we created a serve for in coming freshmen asking them why they are or are not interested in coming to Northglenn • Other goals we have are: • Changing Northglenn's reputation
How we will put our survey opinions into action. • We will take their feed back and present it to the principle • Depending on what the feed back is from the students, we’ll ask our principle to help make changes in order for peoples opinions to not be as negative towards our school
Obtained info; sharee blunt(principle of NGHS) • We are very involved in our community through our honor society putting in lots of hours and also by working with Good Will • Ranked 4 out of 5 schools do to TCAP scores and graduation rate • Yet we have, the most growth on graduation rate and most decline on drop out rate.
getting its voice back! • STEM program (more choice ins) • 17 different advanced placement courses • 46 diverse clubs and activities • Honor society
How we have contributed on getting our voice back • When we asked students on what they think could make NGHS a better school they said: • No off hours to freshmen • The school is small • Not the most athletic school • This is us contributing by asking what we could do better for people to like Northglenn more
