Why Prezi? • PREZI allows you to create unbelievably dynamic presentations, where you can zoom in and out across a large poster, create motion paths, add text, embed images and video files or YouTube videos… • Prezi by nature is holistic while power point is linear by nature
Sign up for a Prezi Account • Go to http://prezi.com • Click on Sign Up Now • Scroll down until you see this: • Click on Get under the Edu Enjoy license
Sign up for a Prezi Account • Put in your email address(use your school address) and click on Continue • Fill out the form with school name, city (Norcross), and school website address • Confirm you are a student or teacher at the school and click Submit • You will receive a confirmation email that you will need to go to and click the link they give you to complete your registration.
As we move forward . . . • You are going to “play” with the tools I show you. • Open a new browser window • Log into your Prezi account • You may need to put your cursor over by the top left side of the window. If you see the Prezi tools appear, click on the blue arrow to the top left of the word “Show.”
PreziTools – Colors and Themes • Colors & Themes – allows you to choose a predefined theme or use the theme wizard to create your customized theme

PreziTools - Write • Write – Allows you to put text boxes on your Prezi in whatever location you wish. • Click on Write • Click anywhere you wish to put your text box • Start typing • Above the text box you will see different alignment choices as well as a bullet icon. • Below the text box, you can choose the text theme you want to use.
PreziTools – Zebra Tool • Zebra tool – Appears when you click on text • Move - center of the zebra • Size and scale - inner ring of the zebra • Rotate objects of any kind - outer ring of the zebra
Prezi Tools • Add a Hyperlink • Click on Write – click on prezi to add a text box • Copy & Paste a URL – http not https • Click on Save • Click on Exit • Click on Edit

PreziTools - Path • Path - With the Path tool, you can simply go through your presentation just by clicking Next. • Zoom out until you can see multiple objects you want to show • Choose Path on the Bubble Menu • Click on your objects in the order you want to present them • Drag path numbered circles off to the background to remove them
Prezi Tools • Path – continued • Drag the small path circles between two steps to insert an object • Drag the large numbered circle onto other objects to swap them into the Path • Choose Capture View to capture current view and add it to the path • Click Show in the Menu, and use the bottom right arrows to go through your Path • The Delete All button deletes the whole Path, and all the path steps.

PreziTools - Frame • Frame – The best presentations use frames in Prezi to organize information in groups. • When related information is grouped together, you can avoid excessive panning in your prezi - which often results in motion sickness for your audience. • Choose Frame in the Bubble Menu (top left)
PreziTools - Frame • Choose a Frame type • Start drawing a Frame around your objects • Hold down SHIFT while drawing to create 4:3, projector-friendly aspect ratios • You can choose 'Capture View' in the Path menu, to generate a frame that fills your actual view. This will add a path step as well.

PreziTools - Insert • Insert - Image • Choose Insert/Load File • Select the image from your computer. • Then use the Zebra to arrange it.
PreziTools - Insert • Insert Media – Video • You can insert the following video file formats to Prezi: • FLV, F4V, AVI, MOV, WMV, F4V, MPG, MPEG, MP4, M4V, 3GP • How it works: Prezi has a built-in, standalone video player for these video formats. After uploading a video, you can control the playback using a navigation bar when presenting manually. You can add videos directly to the path. In this case, videos will start automatically as you reach them in your presentation, and will stop as you move along on the path.
PreziTools - Media • Insert Media – Video • Click Insert/Load file in the editor, or simply hit the 'L' keyboard shortcut. • Choose a videofile from your computer • Insert the file into prezi, just as you insert any image file. Once the video is selected in Write mode, you can use the Zebra tool to arrange it or simply drag and move with your mouse.
PreziTools - Media • Insert Media – YouTube Video • Paste the URL of a YouTube video to the text field it gives you (this is not the YouTube embed code). • Hit OK. Once the video is selected in Write mode, you can use the Zebra tool to arrange it, or simply drag and move with your mouse. • File size limit for video uploads is 50 mb

PreziTools – Edit Mode • Edit Mode • is designed for creating, manipulating your prezi. There is a grid in the background. • Prezi starts up in Edit mode • Prezi doesn't zoom around when you click on objects, so you don't get lost while writing or moving your objects • use the zoom buttons, or scroll your mouse to zoom
Prezi Tools • Show Mode • is designed for presenting and for fast navigation to small / huge things • there is no grid, you get a clean look, and all the menus will auto-hide • You can click on objects to zoom to them, and click the background to zoom out
