Magic was born August 14, 1959. • He would shovel snow off the parks basketball court just to play for a while. • Then when he was in fourth grade a new kid moved into his town, he also loved basket ball. • Both of them entered Dwight Rich Junior High, and played basketball. • When he graduated from high school he went to Lansing University. He was one of the best basketball players in the history of basketball. • His team won the championship 5 times in 8 years. • Also he was named MVP at least 5 times in his career. • Also he was named most valuable player at least 2 times. • When he was tested positive for the HIV virus he retired from basketball. In 8 seasons Magic won 5 national basketball championships. • Also in 1987 he was named the most valuable player and it was the first time in 20 years that a guard had received the MVP award. • Lastly in his 10 years of playing basketball he scored 17,239 points and had 9,721 assists.
