My Lai Massacre : • President Nixon called the massacre an isolated incident. • After a reporter wrote the story, one of Calley’s soldiers asked the US House Armed Services Committee to investigate this event.
My Lai Massacre : • Lieutenant William Calley, Jr., who commanded soldiers to kill civilians was put in prison. • He felt guilty for what he did.
Massacre in Afghanistan War : • 44 years after the Vietnam War • March 11,2012 • In the middle of the night around 3 A.M a U.S soldier opened fire on innocent Afghan civilians.
Massacre in Afghanistan War : • 16 Afghan civilians were killed cruelly at Panjwai district. • The U.S military will put this soldier on trial for this tragic event.

Even though war is cruel, civilians are innocent. Soldiers should respect for civilians’ life. These two events let us know soldiers need more psychological training before they go to war. Lessons
