Army-Community Heritage Partnerships • Project is a cooperative effort between the Army and the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s (NTHP) National Main Street Center (NMSC) organization • Goals • Better serve Army family through enhanced shopping, products, and services offered in the adjacent historic commercial districts • Encourage increased economic vitality in the adjacent historic commercial districts by understanding market opportunities afforded by the Army presence • Create linkages and parallels between the community pair’s historic buildings and cultural heritage • Investigate the potential for a heritage tourism strategy that will benefit community economic conditions and add value and opportunity for reuse of Army historic buildings
