  1. Virtual Tour of the Weissman Preservation Center 2008

  2. The Weissman Preservation Center is located in the Harvard University Library building at 90 Mt. Auburn St.

  3. 90 Mt. Auburn St. is a Gold LEED certified building,that utilizes a geothermal heating and cooling systemand environmentally friendly building maintenance practices.

  4. The entrance and lobby area is shared by the Weissman Preservation Center, the Office for Information Systems, and administrative staff of the Harvard Depository.

  5. The Weissman Preservation Center occupies office and lab space on the third and fourth floors and the below-ground level of the building. Stairwells with fire-rated glass provide safe access and egress.

  6. The Weissman Preservation Center Library is open to all members of the Harvard community during normal business hours. It occupies the lengths of three corridors.

  7. The Special Collections Laboratory is dedicated to preserving Harvard University Library’s rare and valuable books, music scores, manuscripts, prints, maps and photograph collections.

  8. State-of-the-art equipment and furnishings support this painstaking conservation work.

  9. There is ample, balanced, naturaland artificial light.

  10. Custom-made benches provide well-functioning work space.
