Accomplishments To Date • Signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) – September 2010 • Student Study Abroad – 20 Students/3 Faculty Members within Daystar Commerce Department – Summer 2010 • Staff Exchange – NWC IT Staff Assess IT Capability and Recommends Possible Approaches to Meet Increased Demand – Fall 2010 • Faculty Exchange – NWC provided faculty training in Moodle and Video Conferencing – Fall 2010 • Student Exchange – Daystar Student at NWC – Spring 2011

Challenges Before Us • Northwestern College & Daystar University • Disparity in cost between institutions • Resource Intensity – each student/many offices • New Logistics – airport, transportation, etc. • Host families – short-term study • Mentors, orientation, expectations • Culture Difference/Shock • Adapting to the American or Kenyan pace • Loss of community (support structure) • New Logistics – independence to intra-dependence • Demand (faculty/student) may exceed capacity • Technology differential/capability (IT, equipment, etc.)
