  2. Hot Hot Hot! If it were 110 degrees outside on Monday morning, and then got 34 more degrees hotter by noon, what would the new temperature be? 110 + 34 =

  3. Brrrr…… If it were -5 degrees outside on Monday morning and then got 7 degrees warmer by noon, what would the new temperature be? -5 + 7 =

  4. That’s REALLY cold! This would never happen in the Rio Grande Valley (but it happens all the time in northern states)… If it were -5 degrees outside on Monday morning and then got 6 more degrees colder by noon, what would the new temperature be? -5 + -6 =

  5. The Integer Song  Same signs, add and keep. Different signs, subtract. Take the sign of the higher number, then you’ll be exact!

  8. KCC • Any subtraction problem can be rewritten using the KCC method. Keep Change Change 5 - 7 = 7 + - (In this case) CHANGE the “positive 7” to a “negative 7.” KEEP the 5. Don’t do anything to it! CHANGE the “-” sign to an “+” sign.
