Adolf Hitler is Born - April 20, 1889 Hitler's Father Dies - January 3, 1903 Hitler Fails Art Exam - October 1907 Hitler's Mother Dies - December 21, 1907 Hitler is Homeless in Vienna - 1909-1913 Based on the descriptions of these dates, what conclusions can be made about Hitler’s early years?

The Beer Hall PutschNovember 9, 1923 • Germany experiences a severe financial crisis • Inflation to the extreme • Weimar Republic pledges to continue making reparation payments • Plotted a revolution to put the Nazis in power over Germany • Revolution was to take place at Munich Beer Hall where leaders were having a meeting • Revolution failed when Hitler desperately marched out of the beer hall to Munich • Hitler is arrested

  11. Timeline Continued • Hitler Runs for President-1932 • Lost the election • The Republic Collapses- 1932 • Hitler Named Chancellor of Germany- January 30, 1933 • Hitler was appointed as Chancellor of Germany by President Hindenburg because of fear of Revolution.

  12. Reichstag Burns • February 27- Nazis burn Reichstag to create crisis atmosphere. • February 28- Emergency Powers granted to Hitler

  13. March 24, 1933 – Hitler Becomes Dictator • German Parliament Passes Enabling Act • Becomes dictator – der Fuhrer (the leader) • Established the Third Reich (empire).
