About him • Adolf Hitler was born to Alois and Klara Hitler on April 20, 1889 in Braunau, Austria near the German border. • Hitler was a stubborn child with a strict father. He enjoyed games that involved fighting and re–enacting battles. He was also interested in art and wanted to become an artist which upset his father. Later in life he was rejected at both the Vienna Academy of Art and Vienna School of Architecture. • At age 15 he left school because of poor grades.
The characteristics about Adolf Hitler • Adolf despised Austria and volunteered for the German Army during the outbreak of the First World War . • He liked to fight in the army and his fellow soldiers described himas odd and peculiar. • He made frequent outbursts attacking the Jews and Marxists. • He won five medals during the First World War but he only reached the rank of corporal due to his behavior. • Hitler did not believe in socialist ideas those that involved equality.
How does Adolf Hitler impact world history • He was recruited to speak to soldiers and because he was a persuasive speaker he was invited to join the German Worker’s Party . In February 1920 this party was nicknamed the Nazi party . • 1921 Hitler became the new leader of the Nazi Party. He then formed his own army called Sturm Abteilung . • During this time the Swastika armband was worn by the Nazi Party.
Impacts on the world. • Because of Hitler’s persuasive speeches, acts of violence were carried out against the Jews . • Once the Nazi party took over Germany it became Nazi Germany . • During World War II, Adolf Hitler ordered mass killings to get rid of Jews and even his own German people that did not agree with Hitler’s views. • The end of World War II brought devastation to all of Europe especially Nazi Germany setting back progress for years. • Hitler died on April 30, 1945 from cyanide tablets and a gun shot to his head. • We learned from Hitler’s actions the dangers of nationalism , the obscenity of racism, and the importance of democracy.
