  3. What did they do? • carried breech-loading artillery • carried large naval guns • Could fire over 100,000 meters • They were Heavily armored • They could fire over 100,000 meters • Had faster speed then any other ship of that time.

  4. What they looked like • Usually gray or dark colors • The front were usually pointed upward • Had cannons and big guns on the side

  5. Every country had multiple battleships that had names • Set the pace for naval development in the 20th century. • Battleships run on oil • main battery consisting of the largest caliber of guns • Battleships were larger, better armed and armored than cruisers or destroyers
