Warm Up #19(B): What was the most interesting fact you learned from another group about the Renaissance? Take out ALL and any notes from Exploration Unit and Renaissance Unit to study for Test. Objective: Scholars will demonstrate their knowledge by completing an open ended test about the different explorers during the Age of Exploration and life during the Renaissance. Agenda: Warm Up Review Test Columbian Exchange/Make Up Work Homework: Week Reminders – Marco’s Pizza Night Tuesday, Box Tops, Penny Wars, Spirit Week and Dance on Friday!!
Warm Up # 19(A): Answer on separate sheet of paper, in complete sentences and you can use your notes. Why was the time period known as the Renaissance referred to as the “rebirth” in terms of inventions, businesses (economics), life (social), drama and literature? Provide specific examples of each and be sure to answer the question. Objective: Students will become familiar with Columbian Exchange vocabulary terms and will be able to represent the words visually and use the term in a meaningful sentence. analogies Similes • The definition of an analogy is a likeness or a comparison between two things that have some features that are the same and others which are different. Examples: • I am going to be toast when I get home. • There are plenty of fish in the sea. • The relationship between them began to thaw. • A simile compares two things using the words “as” or “like.” Examples: • “you are as stubborn as a mule” which means to convey the fact that you are being very stubborn. • “He is as blind as a bat” meaning he doesn’t see very well.
