  3. 1802 – Eleuthere Irenee du Pont de Nemours established the company in Wilmington, Delaware to produce black powder 1902 – Shareholders vote to sell and 3 great-grandsons buy and restructure the business 1909 – “Ex Station”’s responsibility grew from explosives to chemicals 1927 - $20,000 spent on “pure science” and fundamental research work 1938 – Modern materials revolution begins 1940s – DuPont products contribute to the WWII effort 1980s – DuPont invested over $80 billion in acquisitions Today – “The New DuPont” invests over $1billion a year in R&D History

  9. Glycolic Acid • Functions as an alcohol and a moderately strong acid • Excellent properties for multiple applications • DuPont has been the leading supplier of glycolic acid worldwide for over 50 years
