Toolkit 4.2 Plot where you are now
ATTITUDE Was I eager to learn? Was I enthusiastic? Was I confident in success?
EFFORT Was I helpful? Did I complete the task? Did I keep trying?
Did you have any 1’s or 2’s? • Can you think of a specific reason why you got a 1 or a 2? • Write down what you need to do better so that you can get a 3. • If there is more than one area that you need to improve can you combine some? • If not, pick the one that will help you the most.
Develop an Academic Goal • Am I getting the grades I want? • Do I do all my homework? • Do I turn in my homework? • Do I get help from a teacher or other staff member when I need it? • Do I always show up to class prepared? • Do I always use my planner? • Do I know what my grades are before I get a grade check? • Do I distract the teaching or learning? • Is the work that I do good enough to hang in the hall?
Develop a ROCKS Goal • Do I respect class mates and adults at Russell in a way that that my parents would be proud of? • Do I own my actions even if they might make me look bad? • Do I make choices that I would be ok with if they made front page news? • Am I always an active learner who seeks knowledge and encourages others? • Do I keep myself and others safe in every way? • Am I always in class on time? • Do I make comments that make others feel bad?
Develop S.M.A.R.T. Goals • Explain specifically and realistically how and when you will measure success.
