  7. Automobile/Automotive Mechanics Technology/Technician A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to repair, service, and maintain all types of automobiles. Includes instruction in: • brake systems • electrical systems • engine performance • engine repair • suspension and steering • automatic and manual transmissions and drive trains • heating and air condition systems This program prepares students for ASE Certification

Automotive Technology(related careers) • Farm Equipment Mechanic -- Maintains, repairs, and overhauls farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems. • Furnace Operator -- Operates and tends furnaces, such as gas, oil, coal, electric-arc or electric induction, open-hearth, or oxygen furnaces, to melt and refine metal before casting or to produce specified types of steel. • General Maintenance Repairer -- Keeps machines, mechanical equipment, or structures of an establishment in good repair. • Heat Treating Equipment Worker -- Operates and tends furnaces, flame-hardening machines, and electronic induction machines, to harden, anneal, and heat treat metal products or metal parts. • Heavy Equipment Mechanic -- Repairs and services mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of mobile heavy equipment such as bulldozers, graders, cranes, and conveyors used in construction, logging, and surface mining. • Home Appliance Repairer -- Repairs, adjusts, and installs all types of electric household appliances and tools. • Industrial Machinery Mechanic -- Diagnoses problems in production machinery and equipment. • Locksmith -- Repairs and opens locks, makes keys, and changes locks and safe combinations. • Machine Tool Worker -- Sets up and operates more than one type of cutting or forming machine tool. • Machinery Maintenance Worker -- Performs basic maintenance activities such as cleaning, adjusting, and lubricating to keep equipment and machinery in good working order.

Compare your selections • Automobile Mechanic -- Repairs automobiles, trucks, buses, and other vehicles, according to manufacturers specifications. • Automotive Body Repairer -- Repairs and customizes automotive bodies and frames. • Bicycle Repairer -- Repairs and services bicycles and related accessories. • Career and Technical Education Teacher -- Teaches vocational and/or occupational subjects at the postsecondary level. • Diesel Engine Mechanic -- Inspects, repairs, and maintains diesel engines used to power machines. • Electric Motor/Power Tool Repairer -- Tests, repairs, rebuilds, and assembles electric motors, generators, and related equipment. • Electromechanical Equipment Assembler -- Assembles electromechanical equipment or devices, such as gear trains, gyros, dynamometers, wave guides, magnetic drums, tape drives, actuators, and gearbox mechanisms, according to specifications. • Elevator Installer/Repairer -- Assembles, installs, repairs, and maintains electric and hydraulic freight and passenger elevators, escalators, and dumbwaiters. • Engine/Machine Assembler -- Constructs, assembles, or rebuilds machines such as engines, turbines, and office machines, or equipment used in construction, oil fields, textile and paper manufacturing, woodworking, printing, and food wrapping.

Automotive Technology(related careers cont…) • Machinist -- Sets up and operates machine tools and uses shop drawings to make or repair metal parts for cars, machines, and other equipment. • Marine Engineer -- Plans, designs, and oversees the installation of ship machinery and related equipment, including propulsion machinery and power supply systems. • Mechanical Drafter -- Prepares detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, assembly instructions, fastening methods, and other engineering information. • Mechanics and Repairers Supervisor -- Directly supervises and coordinates activities of mechanics, repairers, and installers and their helpers. • Motorcycle Mechanic -- Repairs and overhauls motorcycles, motor scooters, mopeds, and similar motorized vehicles. • Compare your selections • Non-destructive Tester ... CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY A program that prepares individuals to apply basic engineering principles and technical skills in support of engineers, engineering contractors and other professionals engaged in the construction of buildings and related structures. Includes instruction in: • basic structural & engineering principles • construction techniques • building site inspection • site supervision • plan and specification interpretation • supply logistics and procurement • applicable building codes • report preparation

Construction Technology(related careers) • Cabinetmaker Cuts, shapes, and assembles wooden articles, such as cabinets, high grade furniture, store fixtures, and office equipment. • Carpenter -- Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures or fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard. • Carpenter Helper -- Helps carpenters or carpentry-related craft workers by performing duties of lesser skill. • Construction Laborer -- Performs a wide variety of tasks to help skilled workers. • Construction Manager -- Plans and directs activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. • Construction Supervisor -- Directly supervises and coordinates activities of construction trades workers and their helpers. • Construction and Building Inspector -- Inspects structures to determine structural soundness and compliance with specifications, building codes, and other regulations.

Construction Technology(related careers continued…) • Electrician -- Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. • Electrician Helper -- Helps electricians or power line transmission installers by performing duties of lesser skill. Roofer -- Covers roofs of structures with shingles, slate, aluminum, wood, or related materials, using hammers, knives, punches, and other tools. • Stonemason -- Builds stone structures such as piers, walls, and abutments. Includes instruction in: • computer-assisted art and design using Adobe InDesign™ • printmaking • concepts sketching • technical drawing • color theory • imaging • studio techniques • communication skills and commercial art business operations

Graphic Design(related careers) • Commercial Art Director -- Formulates design concepts, plans presentation approaches, and directs workers engaged in art work, layout, and copy writing for visual communications media such as magazines, newspapers, and packaging. • Graphic Designer -- Designs art and copy layouts for material to be presented by magazines, newspapers, television, and packaging. • Job Printer -- Sets type according to copy, and operates a cylinder or automatic platen press to print job orders.

Graphic Design(related careers cont…) • Printing Machine Operator -- Operates and tends manually controlled or automatic printing machines, such as offset lithographic presses, letter or letterset presses, flexographic or gravure presses, to produce print on paper or other materials such as plastic, cloth, or rubber. order • Commercial Art Director -- Formulates design concepts, plans presentation approaches, and directs workers engaged in art work, layout, and copy writing for visual communications media such as magazines, newspapers, and packaging. • Commercial and Industrial Designer -- Develops and designs manufactured products such as cars, home appliances, and children's toys.

Hospitality/Restaurant/Food Production This course prepares individuals to plan, supervise, and manage food and beverage preparation and service operations, restaurant facilities, and catering services. Includes instruction in: • food/beverage industry operations • cost control • purchasing and storage • business administration • Logistics • personnel management • restaurant and menu planning • executive chef functions • event planning and management • health and safety • insurance and applicable law and regulations Students in this course follow the ProStart curriculum and prepares students for ServSafe Certification

  20. Hospitality/Restaurant/Food Production (related careers) • Baker -- Mixes and bakes ingredients according to recipes to produce breads, pastries, and other baked goods. Compare your selections • Butcher and Meat Cutter -- Cuts, trims, and prepares carcasses and consumer-sized portions of meat for sale or for use in food service companies. • Chef -- Directs and participates in the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of soups, meats, fish, vegetables, salads, desserts, or other foods. • Child Care Aide/Worker -- Monitors and cares for children in schools, businesses, or institutions. • Dietetic Technician - Provides services in areas of food service management. • Dietitian/Nutritionist - Organizes, plans, and conducts food service or nutritional programs to help promote health and control disease. • Farm and Home Management Advisor -- Advises, instructs, and assists individuals and families engaged in agriculture, agricultural related processes, or home economics activities. • Fashion Designer - Designs clothing and accessories for manufacturers and for sale directly to the public. • Fast-Food Cook - Prepares and cooks food in a fast food restaurant with a limited menu.

Hospitality/Restaurant/Food Production (related careers cont…) • Fast-Food Cook -- Prepares and cooks food in a fast food restaurant with a limited menu. • Food Scientist -- Applies scientific and engineering principles in research, development, production, packaging, and processing of foods. • Institution or Cafeteria Cook -- Prepares and cooks meals for institutions such as schools, hospitals, or cafeterias. • Restaurant Cook -- Prepares, seasons, and cooks soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs in restaurants. • Short Order Cook -- Prepares and cooks to order a variety of foods that require only a short preparation time.

Nurse/Nursing Assistant/Aide & Patient Care Assistant A program that prepares individuals to perform routine nursing-related services to patients in hospitals or long-term care facilities, under the training and supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. Students that successfully complete the program earn their Certification as a Nurse Assistant (CNA)
