Supported Learning Management Systems (LMS) at Queensborough • Blackboard –hosted by CUNY, currently at Bb, Inc. in VirginiaPros • Mature, robust – many features including Web 2.0 • All Courses and Students automatically populated each semester • Cons • Version 8, which we are using, is NOT well supported by Bb, Inc. • Sometimes viewed as unstable, but most outages are related to CUNY’s Login system (LDAP) and overloads of CUNY’s Network • Epsilen – hosted by the NY Times in Manhattan Pros • Includes four components: ePortfolio; Groups; Courses; Assessment Matrix • Includes Web 2.0 tools and Social Networking capability • Seems stable, but does not have the user load that Bb has • Cons • Courses, Groups, and Students membership must be established by each faculty member • Feature for feature it is not as robust as Bb, but it is getting better with time
