Theme (MAIN IDEA)
Begin your introduction with a “HOOK”

3. Paragraph 2: Summary Paragraph After reading your summary paragraph, your audience will know:
Main character
Motivation
Conflict and solution
Resolution (denouement)
In other words: Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then…
4. Paragraph 3: Personal Connections Paragraph After reading your Personal Connections Paragraph, your audience will know:
That you made a text to self connection
How a character or insights (thoughts) about the theme relates to you or someone in your life
Any anecdotes (stories), examples, or details you might use to explain your relation to the theme

Why you have an opinion about the text
Your opinion about the theme
