Christians have big “buts” Matthew 8:23-27
Psalm 1:1-3 1How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
Psalm 1:1-3 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,And in His law he meditates day and night.
Psalm 1:1-3 3 He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers. NASB
LET’S TALK ABOUT IT: What does it mean to surrender?
Matthew 8:23-27 23 Then Jesus got into the boat and started across the lake with his disciples.
24 Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.
25 The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”
26 Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!”Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.
27 The disciples were amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked. “Even the winds and waves obey him!” NLT
Observations: • Jesus chose to take them through the storm. • Jesus is never where we think He should be when we need Him. • Jesus is always there when we call.
*I love the question Jesus asks: Why are you afraid?
