  15. Your = possessive • You’re = you are Are you sure you’re ready to eat your pet chicken?

  16. Passed = did pass • Past = history • The truck passed Lucy’s house five times in the past week. The truck drove past Lucy’s house.

  17. Definitely = a sure thing • Defiantly = with attitude When the executioner asked the prisoner if she was ready to die, she defiantly said, “Definitely.”
