Leading by example on sustainability. • The City has committed and invested in many programs that reduce cost, improve efficiencies and decrease GHG emissions, launching numerous energy efficiency, green building, renewable energy, alternative transportation and waste diversion initiatives • RESULTS: The City has realized a 26% decrease from its 2007 GHG emissions inventory.

What is FleetShare • City of Houston Fleet Share is a revolutionary motor pool system for City government employees. • This state-of-the art scheduling and access system allows employees to make and manage reservations online, and its wireless technology permits drivers to gain access to vehicles without the need to locate keys, contact other personnel for assistance, or enquire as to the current whereabouts of a particular vehicle. • Launched July 2012 • 100 Enrolled Drivers • 25 Vehicles

Making A Reservation Set the date and time you want to pick up and drop off the car
Using FleetShare Drivers are given an access card which locks and unlocks the vehicles when they have an active reservation. A scanner box is secured to the upper driver side windshield.

EVSE’s • The City of Houston has a total of 110 EVSE’s • 34 are dedicated for FleetShare vehicles • FleetShare users are responsible for plugging in EV’s upon return • Car Attendant ensures units are charging and ready to go out

EV Fuel Reduction • Annual Results • 37,000 gal. • $110,000 Gallons of fuel saved assumes that 1% of US electricity generation comes from petroleum and can thus be neglected. The number of kWh used to power the EV, 340 Wh/mile electricity consumption of the EV, and the 28.6 mpg fuel economy of the comparable, conventional vehicle are used in the formula for Gallons of Fuel saved: Gallons of Fuel Saved = (Total kWh Used*1000)/340/28.6
