Nohkalikai Falls The Nohkalikai Falls are located in Meghalaya, North-East India and is known as the ‘Legend of the Fall’. The name Nohkalikai in the Khasi language means ‘Jump of Ka Likai’. It is believed that the name is linked to a local legendary woman named ‘Likai’, who jumped off a cliff after being tricked into eating her daughter. These falls are known to be the tallest plunge waterfalls in India and are located around Cherrapunji, which is one of the wettest places on earth.
Chitrakote waterfalls Known as ‘India’s Own Niagara’, these falls are located in Chhattisgarh and about 40 KM from the city of Jagdalpur, India. The Chitrakote Waterfalls look more like a horseshoe and is situated on the River Indravati. During the monsoons, these falls widen and spread to over 500 ft. Thus, being called ‘India’s Own Niagara’.
