  1. A foodie's guide to London

  2. Dishoom– Dishoom captures the grace of a bygone era of traditional Irani cafes in Mumbai. With two restaurants at Covent Garden and Shoreditch, Dishoom is the perfect place to eat in London if you are looking for delectable Indian cuisine. Whether you are craving chai, lassi or roomali roll, Dishoom is fully equipped to satiate your tastebuds. The Prawn Koliwada has over the years become a signature dish.

  3. The Ritz - Traditional Afternoon Tea at the Ritz is a ritual you can’t miss. This fine indulgence is set amidst birdcage chandeliers, beneath a gold trellis ceiling against soothing piano notes at the Palm Court. Do make a reservation in advance and also check on the dress code. Generally men are expected to be in jackets and ties and women in formal wear.

  4. Dinner by Heston– Located at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, this celebrated restaurant’s menu takes you through the country’s rich culinary past. Every dish on the menu is dated as per its year of conception. The restaurant is renowned for its Blumenthal’s Meat Fruit – a ball of meat pate, coated in mandarin jelly and garnished with a stalk and leaves, disguising it as an orange. Finish your meal off with a Taffety Tart (c1660) served with rose, apple and vanilla ice-cream.

  5. Vintage Salt – A fish and chip shop or a ‘chippie’ is integral to London’s food scene. But few can offer the beautiful blue frontage that Vintage Salt can. This is one of the best places to eat in London if you are looking to savor mouthwatering battered or breaded fish with a side of fresh-cut chips served with lashings of vinegar and salt.

  6. The Corner Room – Run by Nuno Mendes of Viajante fame (Michelin starred restaurant), The Corner Room is located upstairs in the same Town Hill Hotel. This humble, neighborhood restaurant serves light and fresh dishes with sharp, clean flavours; pretty similar to Viajante. It is recommended that you go for lunch as you can make a reservation and try the set lunch. This is a fantastic place to eat at London as you get to indulge in Michelin-standard food at unbelievable prices.

  7. J Sheekey– If you’re in the mood for oysters, head straight to this vintage establishment at Leicester Square. You will be spoilt for choice with oysters ranging from West Mersea Native Oysters to Porthilly Rock Oysters and even tempura oysters with a wasabi dressing. There’s a wide variety of seafood you can choose from – crab bisque, lemon grass skewered prawns, razor clams and an extravagant plateau de fruits de mer.
