Onomatopoeia • Sound/Word Example-The doorbell rang.
Alliteration • Repetition of beginning sound Example-The pretty person was as pretty as a pear purse.
Personification • Giving human qualities to something not human Example-The flowers looked at me as I walked pass them.
Idiom • A well known expression that does not mean what it says Example-He got a taste of his own medicine when got picked on at school.
