Workgroup Mission • The Interface Architecture workgroup enables standards-based methodology, practice, and guidance for the transport, routing and packaging of residential mortgage information. • The workgroup defines and develops message exchange patterns for enterprise and trading partner exchange of data and documents for a variety of mortgage banking industry activities.
Workgroup Structure • Designed to enable distributed systems communication • use a standards-based methodology • establish a communications practice • provide guidance on a messaging framework • Workgroup includes • Previously known Enveloping Workgroup • Previously known eMIT Workgroup (eMortgage Interface Transactions)/eMCIT (eMortgage Closing Interface Transactions)

Message Exchange Patterns • Define MISMO standard methods of communication between trading partners • Redesign of V2 _ActionType attribute defined in the request/response envelopes by the workgroups • Standardized terms • Actions defined as verbs: shared across workgroups • Items defined as nouns; workgroup specific
Action Verbs • ACCEPT - agree to item type (RESPONSE ONLY) • AUTHORIZE -- provide authorization for an item type • CANCEL -- abnormal terminate item type (REQUEST ONLY) • CHANGE -- update previously provided information • DISPUTE -- disagree with item type; trading partners have different data in their systems • TERMINATE -- successful termination of item type-delete • INITIATE-- submit/start a process (REQUEST ONLY)-delete • PROVIDE (in response to request or unsolicited) -- supply an item type • QUERY -- ask for status of an item type (REQUEST ONLY) • REPORT -- supply status information (RESPONSE ONLY) • REQUEST -- ask for an item type (REQUEST ONLY) • REJECT -- refuse an item type (RESPONSE ONLY) • SCHEDULE -- plan an item type at a particular date • SUSPEND -- put a previous authorization on hold • OTHER
