  2. It was first called Yule then it was converted to Christianity changing it to Christmas They celebrate the birth of Jesus in many different events through out the month

  3. Location • German Christmas is celebrated all over the world but mostly in Germany • The biggest celebration is in Birmingham It’s the biggest market for Christmas shopping

  4. Advent • Celebrated December 1st- December 24 • Catholic tradition • Uses 2 different types of candles to count down to Christmas one called Countdown Candle and Advent Crown

  5. Symbols It’s popular for Christmas markets The most popular thing being sold the markets • Are very important to the tradition of Christmas

  6. Traditions • Stern singers (star singers) go house to house caroling while collecting money for charity • They open presents on Christmas Eve • December 6th is der Nikolaus (St.NicholasDay) where you put small gifts and candy in kids shoes

  7. Knecht Ruprecht • Is a separate Santa for bad kids • He gives bad children birch for Christmas
