Awards and Recognition Useful Terms Awards – delivery of a tangible item to help mobilize and energize a person or persons to strive for desired goals and outcomes Recognition – formal and informal acknowledgment of individual or team performance that demonstrates organizational appreciation for peoples’ efforts
Why Recognize Achievements? Sustains momentum and support for your energy management program Motivates and builds a sense of pride and ownership of the program Helps individuals understand how their actions directly affect the district’s goals and objectives “What gets recognized gets repeated”
Goals and Objectives What are the goals and objectives of the program? • Improving energy efficiency • Changing behaviors • Educating students about energy efficiency • Reducing operating costs • Including water conservation and/or recycling to our program
