Intercessor • Hebrew –paga.Strongs= “to impinge, by accident, or violence, or by importunity” • (Impinge – to make an impression, have an effect upon, impact) • Pagaoccurs 46 times in the Old Testament: • Numbers 35:19,21 –”meeteth” • Joshua 19:11 – “reached” 2x • 1Kings 2:25 – “fell upon” • New Testament – entugchano.Thayers= “to go to or meet a person, esp. for the purpose of conversation, consultation or supplication.”

The effectual fervent prayers of a righteous man: • By prayer waters were parted; were made sweet; was provided. • By prayer daily nourishment was given. • By prayer plagues ceased, fire was quenched, destruction stayed. • By prayer leprosy was healed, and serpent bites cured. • By prayer a brother and sister were recovered. • By prayer a nation was saved, sins were pardoned and fellowship restored.

  6. “That I May Consume Them…” • The Golden calf (Exo. 32) – “let Me alone, that My wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation…” • At the lack of faith to go in to possess the promised land (Num. 14) – “I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they…” • At the rebellion of Korah(Num. 16) - “Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment…” • The day after the rebellion of Korah, when the people blamed Moses for killing the people of the LORD (Num. 16) - “Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment…”
