Polar Covalent Bonds - unequal sharing of electrons • electron clouds overlap • due to 1 of the involved atoms having a higher electronegativity • Ex:0-H N-H are polar covalent • (*think of where they are on the • periodic table)
uneven distribution of the electron charge • The formed molecules of polar covalent bonds will have charged regions. • Atom with higher electronegativity will form a negatively charged region. • The other atom will form the positively charged region.
