Take Home Messages from Jigsaw • The IB Diploma offers academic, social and financial benefits for all students, but is especially beneficial for low-income and minority students. • A wide variety of students can be successful in the MYP and DP programmes and student supports can facilitate this success. • The transition between MYP and DP can be difficult and we should careful consider how we approach this transition as a district.
Findings from Continuum Study: • Wider range of assessment tools in DP • Leadership and Management contribute significantly to successful transitions • Cross Programme interaction/involvement • Articulation is a key vehicle for transitions
Brainstorming solutions • Administrators Group: How can you strengthen/maintain your role in the MYP/DP transition? (pp.75-77) • Teacher Group 1: Brainstorm opportunities for cross program interaction/involvement. What is the role of technology in collaboration? (pp.50 ) • Teacher Group 2: Design a template for an articulation document that can help us better align the MYP programs within the district and the DP program. What role does CSCOPE plan in our articulation? (p.50) • Email summary to laura.nikstad@mcallenisd.net
