ITU Interop Events • Council-09 mandated the following lines to implement WTSA Resolution 76 • a pilot conformity assessment database • interoperability events • human resources capacity building • assistance in the establishment of test facilities in developing countries • a business plan for long term implementation
ITU-T Suite of IPTV Standards (1/2) Three main IPTV services: live television time-shifted programming video on demand ITU-T IPTV is delivered over managed IP Networks instead of traditional radio, satellite, cable or public Internet via subscriber-based telco networks with high-speed access into set-top boxes
ITU-T Suite of IPTV Standards (2/2) Put to the test during the first event ITU-T IPTV is a global set of standards Including; H.770 (service discovery) H.721 (IPTV terminal) H.750 (metadata) H.762 (LIME: interactive multimedia) H.701 (error recovery) H.701 FEC testing for QoE has newly added H.740 (audience measurement) H.761 (ginga-NCL)
ITU Interop Event on IPTV comprised two parts 1st part (20-21 July): Testing – closed event Two types of testing carried out Conformance testing: each company tests against a checklist Interop testing: one-on-one testing Testing was carried out with IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack environment 2nd part (22-23 July): Showcasing – open event Prospective customers invited ITU Secretary General gave welcome address Film crew, ITU photographer and media team on site

Eight organizations participated at 20-23 July event: Cisco Mitsubishi NTT NEC OKI PUC-Rio (Brazilian university) Sumitomo TVstorm Participants paid a 3,000 CHF fee Participating companies + fee structure
