First and foremost, let me apologize for the late posting of this newsletter. As many of you saw, there is a lot of planning and preparation that goes along with parties – especially when we have learning to do prior to the party and I wanted to make sure I was fully prepared for the whole day Friday before posting this. We have been busy getting back to work this week learning about reading with a –ck ending and double consonant endings such as –ll, -gg, and –ff. Our reading strategy this week was understanding characters and comparing characters in texts. In Math, we have started a more difficult concept through the use of “frames and arrows.” Remember, this is essentially just creating and following a rule to add or subtract through the use of the frames and arrows.We will be working hard on telling time as well! IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Thank you to everyone, especially Jessica Reeder, for coordinating and facilitating our Fall party on Friday. Now to the important information – for the remainder of the year, only the parents who signed up for parties at the Open House in September will be allowed to volunteer. With saying that, if some parents signed up for multiple parties, I do have the right to deny if there are too many volunteers already. Last Friday, there were a few parents/relatives who were not on my volunteer list, which is sent to the secretary prior to the party, who expected to be able to come to the party. From now on, I will have to turn you away from the party unless I am previously notified. Thank you for your understanding!
