  2. Nobel Prize Information Nobel Prize History The prize is named after Alfred Nobel. He paid for all the medals. The first prize was given in 1901. The prizes are awarded by the king of Sweden on December 12th Prize categories The prize categories are physics, chemistry, economics, peace, literature, and physiology. Criteria for winning It has to stand the test of time and be important.

  3. Leymah Gbowee She was born in central Liberia, on Febuary 1 ,1972. She was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2011 for peace. She is responsible for leading a women’s peace movement. She also is the founder and the president of the Gobwee peace foundation in Africa.
