External Reproductive Organs External Organs (genitals) include the penis, scrotum and testicles
External Reproductive Organs Testes Testes – produce the male sex cells (sperm) & male sex hormone (testosterone)
External Reproductive Organs Epididymis Epididymis – a coiled tube where the sperm cells mature
External Reproductive Organs Scrotum Scrotum – a loose pouch of skin that houses the testes, located below the penis
External Reproductive Organs Penis Penis – male reproductive organ, also used to urinate
Internal Reproductive Organs Vas Deferens Vas Deferens – Tube which sperm travels through from the Epididymis towards the penis
Internal Reproductive Organs Seminal Vesicles Seminal Vesicles – glands that produce a fluid that combines with sperm and additional fluid to form semen
Internal Reproductive Organs Prostate Gland Prostate Gland – the size of a walnut, produces a fluid that helps the sperm move
Internal Reproductive Organs Urethra Urethra – 2 functions: to carry urine and to carry semen outside of the body
Nocturnal Emission An involuntary ejaculation that usually occurs at night during sleep
