Materials • Each team needs a white board and a piece of paper. • If your color comes up – you do the problem on the white board and come up to me to shoot. • EVERYONE else in the team needs to do the problem on their paper • Winning team gets a treat tomorrow
#1 – Simplifying Complex Numbers (a+bi form) • Simplify the following Complex Expressions – leave answers in a+bi form

#2 – Simplify Complex Fractions (a+bi form) • Make sure to multiply by the denominator BUT change the sign
#3- Solving a Quadratic (using square roots) • Solve the following quadratic equations • It is helpful to square root both sides INSTEAD of multiplying first in some cases (like this )
#4 – Solving with radicals • Solve by squaring both sides. Please check your solutions in the original equation to make sure they work. • Do BOTH solutions work???
#5 – Completing the Square to Solve • Solve the following quadratic by completing the square – the goal is to get the equation in and then take the sq. root of both sides.
#6 – Powers of i Simplify the following expressions to a+bi form by using the powers of i.
#7 – Multiplying Rational Expressions Multiply and then simplify the following rational expression. You may want to factor first.
#8 – Adding/Subtracting Rational Expressions • Add and subtract the following expressions • Find the LCD (least common denominator 1st)
#9 – Simplifying Rational Expressions • Anyone can shoot for this problem. • DOUBLE points!
