Workshop Themes • The confluence of two emerging disciplines • E-services • Semantic Web • Applying Semantic Web technologies to E-services: • specification of service capabilities and behavior • to enable the automation of tasks such as e-service discovery, invocation, composition and interoperation • Building blocks provided by industry; many issues remain unresolved • need to turn to the fundamentals in enabling technologies (DBs, WFMS, agents, etc.) Dimitris Plexousakis
