NSLP Recordkeeping Requirements • Food Service Management Company Contracts and Contract Extensions April 11 & June 13, 2014 • Verification January 10, 2014 • AccuclaimFebruary 14, 2014 • Food Safety Inspection Reports October 4, 2013 • Supplemental Financial Report monthly • Reimbursement Claims monthly • USDA Food Orders monthly

  4. Application Renewal Reminders Annual Renewal of permanent agreement between School Food Authorities and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education All components must be entered, saved and submitted through the Security Portal

Application Renewal Reminders • Begin with the second component Authorized Signatures • Enter 3 contacts (Food Service Director, Business Official & Superintendent) • Some components require that a document be retrieved from the Document & Reference Library • School operating dates (School Applications component) will populate when the calculate button is clicked. Make sure the effective date in School Applications is consistent with the effective date in District Application.

  6. Application Renewal Reminders Adding a site: Send an e-mail with new site information Removing a site temporary: Identical effective, start & close dates (School Application Component) permanent: Enter a terminate date (School Application Component) Amendments Anytime!!!

Meal Benefit Issuance Reminders • • Massachusetts’ Household Meal Benefit Application has been updated • • The enrollment match through Virtual Gateway must occur no fewer than 3 times in the school year • • Students’ prior eligibility must be carried to the new school year until a new application is processed, or for up to 30 operating days from the first day of school • • Foster, homeless and runaway students are categorically eligible for free benefits • Eligibility Manual for School Meals • http://www.fns.usda.gov/cnd/Guidance/EliMan.pdf
