  5. Basic Needs For Product Growth • The company would need some type of headquarters or base of operations for the planning and marketing of the product. • The company would also need a sizable workforce to produce, market, and manage the product.

  6. Model Company: Karl Storz • Karl Storz is the leading Endoscopic Research & Manufacturing Company. • They have many offices worldwide, including their HQ in Tuttlingen, Germany. • Karl Storz employs hundreds, nearing a thousand strong workforce

  7. Manufacturing Information For Magnascope • One unit takes around 100,000 man-hours to produce • An employee at Super Scopes works for 2,000 hours a year • It takes 50 employees to finish 1 unit in 1 year

Five Year Outlook For The Magnascope • Over the first years of operation, the would need to be patented, approved by the FDA, and invested in by leading medical instrument manufacturers. • Over the 1st year, a workforce of over a hundred employees would be necessary for marketing, management, research, and manufacturing. • A HQ should be established at this point.

Five Year Outlook For The Magnascope • In the 4th & 5th years of operation, the company should now include a workforce of well over a thousand and be a major force in the endoscopic field. • Since the product is innovative in the sense that it is the most minimally invasive ovarian surgical procedure, it would probably affect the endoscopic market place as the dominant force in ovarian surgery.
