What to consider when deciding what to take in Grade 11 • Consider future goals when making choices for Gr. 11 • Some Gr. 11 courses will be pre-requisites for Grade 12 courses and for college and university programs. Ex. You can’t take BAT4M (gr. 12 accounting) in grade 12 if you don’t have the grade 11 BAF3M1.

Compulsory Classes You will need to choose the following3Compulsory Courses for Gr. 11: English – ENG3E, ENG3C, ENG3U Math – MEL3E, MBF3C, MCF3M, MCR3U Religion – HRF30, HRT3M You will then choose 5Elective Courses for Gr. 11
How do I choose 5 ELECTIVES? Make sure you have a course in Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3. These are GRADUATION requirements! WHAT ARE THE GROUPS? Group 1 – Grade 11 Religion takes care of your Group 1 graduation requirement Group 2 – additional credit in Art OR Phys-edOR Business OR French OR Co-op Group 3 – additional credit in Gr. 11/12 Science OR Technology courses OR French OR Computer Studies OR Co-op
Something NEW for some Gr. 11 courses C- Level – college bound courses ex. TFJ3C1 (Gr. 11 Hospitality) M-LEVEL - courses are Mixed courses that can be used towards college and/or university, ex. BAF3M1 (Accounting) U-Level – Courses that are University bound courses, ex. SPH3U1 (Physics) O-Level – Courses that are Open to everyone, ex. EPS3O1 (Presentation and speaking skills)
Grade 11 Math Grade 10 MFM2P can lead to: MBF3C – College Math OR MCF3M – Mixed Math You should have a minimum mark of 80% in gr. 10 applied math, if you choose to take the MCF3M math. Grade 10 MPM2D can lead to: MCF3M – Mixed Math OR MCR3U – University Math You should have a minimum mark of 80% in gr. 10 academic math, if you choose to take MCR3U math. Grade 10 MAT2L – if you are in MAT2L this year, come see your Guidance Counsellor TODAY. Your counsellors will be available in the atrium on lunch feb.8-10
NEW COURSES • Amp 3o1 – Percussion (No prerequisite – you will automatically make it onto the drumline if you take this course) • TFB 3E1 – Baking (No prerequisite)

GPP3O/HRT3ML - MarcelLeaders • This two-credit program combines the World Religions and Leadership courses, and runs all year long. You’ll be learning about the beliefs and practices of several major world religions, while building the skills necessary for effective leadership, communication, and service to others in the community. • As a MarcelLeader, you will be trained to work with the incoming Grade 9 class, beginning with running the Grade 9 Orientation BBQ in September. Throughout the school year, you will meet with the Grade 9s periodically, to counsel them through challenges and lead social activities. • If you have any further questions, see Ms. Di Capua in the Religion Dept office (room 210)

SUBMISSION PROCEDURES • Log into your myBlueprint account and choose your courses • You must select 8 courses! • We will open the portal so you can SUBMITyour course selections and PRINT your course verification form on Thursday, February 9 after school • Registration collection begins: Monday February 13 and runs until Thursday, February 16. PORTAL CLOSES ON FEBRUARY 16! • Where – in the cafeteria. WE WILL CALL YOU DOWN. • You must have BOTHOF THE FOLLOWING as we will NOT accept one without the other: • 1. Course Verification Sheet – signed by you and your parent • 2. Activity Fee form with money – cash, credit or debit $65 NO CHEQUES! NO CHEQUES! NO CHEQUES!
Make sure you get your form and money in early to give you a better chance of getting your electives! Portal opens: Thursday, February 9 at 4pm Portal closes: thursday, February 16, 2017
