Additional Assessments2014–15 • English Language Learners • Access for ELLs (Assessing Comprehension and Communication in English State-to-State for English Language Learners) • Developed by the World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment (WIDA) • All students in grades K-12 • Replaces the English Language Development Assessment (ELDA) • Includes an alternate assessment for students with significant cognitive disabilities.
Additional Assessments2014–15 • Provisos as passed in the House; work is continuing in the Senate • Proviso 1A.19. states that PSAT/PLAN reimbursements shall resume in the current fiscal year. • Proviso 1A.29. (SDE-EIA: Assessments-Gifted & Talented, Advanced Placement, & International Baccalaureate Exams) Of the funds appropriated and/or authorized for assessment, up to $4,600,000 shall be used for assessments to determine eligibility of students for gifted and talented programs and for the cost of Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate exams.
