The “IDEAL” Elementary SchoolTeacher: • Highly skilled in the grade/subject areas • Excited, passionate, and nurturing • Establishes rapport with students and parents • Knows the students strengths and weaknesses • Sensitive to the student’s culture and background • Creates a safe learning environment • Uses time wisely • Sets high and CLEAR EXPECTATIONS for all learners • High level of Teacher – Student Discourse • Uses Assessment to inform Instruction
