  8. MOVE FROM KILL ZONE TO RALLY POINT • Proceed to floating or fixed rally point, out of contact with the enemy • Do not stop in a built-up area • Conduct consolidation and reorganization as quickly as possible • Organize defensive formation at rally point

  10. ARRIVAL AT RALLY POINT • Dismount and establish perimeter security • Conduct sweep of the area • Collect ACE reports • Report to higher headquarters

EVALUATE CASUALTIES • Begin treatment of wounded after exiting kill zone • Display the visual signal for casualties on board • Employ combat life savers (CLS) • Provide personnel and equipment to assist CLS • Provide security as required • Receive casualty assessment report from CLS • Determine need and priority for medical evacuation • Reestablish chain of command if required • Secure sensitive items/weapons/documents • Report casualty status to higher headquarters

EVACUATE CASUALTIES • Establish security perimeter around landing zone (LZ) • Clear and mark LZ • Ensure all personnel are briefed on duties and safety • Ensure all casualties are evacuated quickly • Coordinate recovery and evacuation of KIAs IAW SOP • Consolidate and reorganize as needed to continue mission

  15. VEHICLE RECOVERY AND BATTLE DAMAGE ASSESSMENT AND REPAIR (BDAR) DRIVERS • Assess damage to disabled vehicles • Assess damage to cargo • Report damage to recovery team • Assist in vehicle recovery, cargo transload, security, medical evacuation, and vehicle/cargo destruction as ordered

VEHICLE RECOVERY ANDBDAR Recovery Team • Assess damage to disabled vehicles • Report status to the convoy commander • Conduct a hasty hook-up • Conduct complete hook-up once the vehicle has cleared the contact area • Displace and link with the convoy at the rally point • Conduct field expedient repairs

  17. VEHICLE RECOVERY AND BDAR Convoy Commander • Receive assessment reports from recovery team • Contact higher HQ for assistance if needed • Order load redistribution, cargo destruction, and vehicle destruction • Reassign drivers and crew members as required

REDISTRIBUTE AMMUNITION • Personnel report ammunition status to first-line leaders (ACE report) • First-line leaders redistribute ammunition at their level and report number of full magazines to next level • Convoy NCOIC conducts final redistribution between sections • Convoy NCOIC provides ammunition report (ACE) to convoy commander

  19. INSPECT EQUIPMENT • Leaders conduct weapon, communication, and sensitive item inspections and provide status to convoy commander • Convoy commander ensures weapons/sensitive items accountability before continuing the mission • Convoy commander orders redistribution of crew-served weapons if necessary

  20. SUBMIT FOLLOW-UP SITREP TO HIGHER HEADQUARTERS • Ammunition status • Casualties • Equipment • Actions taken • Time action took place • Projected effect on mission • Recommendations

  21. CONTINUE THE MISSION • Reorganize the convoy • Deploy the forward security element • Coordinate trail party actions • Ensure that no personnel or equipment are left behind • Continue the road march by alternate route if necessary
