INSTITUTE OF OCEANOLOGY - BAS R/V AKADEMIK bought in 1984(medium ocean trawler)andreconstructed in a research vessel in 1988 Displacement 1225 t; Length o.a. 55,5m; Breadth 9,8 m; Draught 4,8 m; Speed 10 kn; Unlimited region for sailing; Crew 18; Scientific staff 22; More than 200 research cruises have been carried out with the R/V AKADEMIK - the best ships for complex research in the Black Sea

INSTITUTE OF OCEANOLOGY - BAS INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION During the recent decade more than 45 international projects have been carried out with the support of : • European Union; • Global Environment Fund (GEF) • PHARE • IOC - UNESCO • NATO Ten international cruises were performed with RV “Akademik” 10
