From Kemp Administration Welcome Back! We are looking forward to a great year! Please help us ensure we are providing a safe learning environment for our students by following the procedures below: • Allow your student to ride the bus if possible. • Follow established car rider procedures (video on website). • Only drop students off after 7:15 a.m. • If you walk your student into the building in the mornings, please say your goodbyes in the lobby. Students should walk to class and eat breakfast on their own. • If your student is tardy (arrives after the 7:45 a.m. bell), visit the front office to sign them in. • Only enter the building at the front door. You must be “buzzed in” by the front office staff. Please do not try to enter at another door and ask a student or staff member to open the door.
Attendance and Dismissal Policy • Prompt arrival and regular attendance is vital to your child’s success in third grade. The bell rings at 7:45. • Please send a note from home if there is an absence or change in dismissal. I know you often email, but the front office needs a note to make a record of the absence. • Same Car Pool Policy as last year (If you do not have a carpool sign you must come inside and show ID…this is for safety reasons.) • Safe Rider Bus Program (yellow tags) • We cannot release students to parents without an appropriate slip from the office if we are outside of the classroom. • There will be no dismissals after 1:45 p.m.
Clinic and Medication Policies • ALL medications must be sent to the clinic in the original container. • Please send a note with all medications.
Cafeteria Information • Menus are available on the Kemp website. Students must be in the serving line by 7:45 to purchase a breakfast • Prices Breakfast: • Student: $1.25 • Adult: $1.50 Lunch: • Student: $2.15 • Adult: $3.25 • Lunches may be pre-paid.

The AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM (ASP) operates from the end of the school day to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The After School Program is an extension of the instructional day for the students of Kemp. It will function under the guidelines as established by the Cobb County Board of Education. After School Program is a PREPAID PROGRAM. (This means there needs to be money in your child’s account before they can stay that day). • Every child must have a registration form complete and signed to stay in ASP each year. • $10 registration fee each year- • $7 daily • Snacks are served each day- please send a snack with your child if they have a restricted diet • IMPORTANT REMINDERS: • ASP money envelopes need to go in a black box when your child arrives in the morning. • There is a late charge of $1.00 per minute after 6:00 according to the school clock. • (Only 3 late notices, then the student will be removed from the program. We do have transportation to local daycares that stay open later.) • All grades 1st through 5th will be given homework time. • Behavior: General rules are set by Cobb County. The rules for the school day also apply during after school hours. Rules are established to ensure the safety of all children. • Please be sure to send a note to your child’s classroom teacher indicating the days your child will attend the After-School Program. Your child’s teacher should be informed in writing any time there is a change to your child’s schedule. • If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Cobb at lisa.cobb@cobbk12.org
